As the sporting industry becomes steadily more reliant upon big data, sports enthusiasts worry that the nature of the game is changing. With team success reduced to a formula on a computer, is big data taking the excitement out of sports, or is it merely upping the competition?
What is Big Data?
Big data is a term used to describe the exercise of mining large and complex data. Big data is in the process of making a major breakthrough in the sporting industry, with prominent scientists using analyses drawn from big data to predict strike zone precision, athlete performance, and game outcomes. As big data analytics becomes ever more precise, influential sports franchises are implementing it to evaluate up and coming players and influence coaching decisions.
How far in advance does your marketing team plan content? Planning content in advance helps marketing teams avoid gaps and allows them to better target potential customers by producing thoughtful, enlightening content that keeps the audience engaged. In 2013 MarketingSherpa conducted research that found that 82% of potential customers considered industry-related content to be more valuable to them.
Busy marketers know how difficult it can be to consistently put out top quality content. There are at least a dozen other tasks and requests they must juggle while they’re brainstorming ideas for the next article or infographic. Thankfully there is something that any marketing team can use to keep themselves on track and thinking about future content: an editorial calendar.
Staying on top of news and trends in the social media industry can be tough. It's a constantly growing, constantly changing beast with new platforms that pop up almost weekly. So many, in fact, that it’s impossible to keep up with all of them. One that quietly popped up over the last couple of months and has been gaining a bit of traction around the internet is a new social network called Ello.
What is Elllo?
Ello is the latest attempt at taking on the big social networks. It’s a simple to use, ad-free social media platform that was created by a small group of artists and designers. The main reason for its creation was to have a place for people to communicate and collaborate online while avoiding an overload of advertisements. It was originally intended to be a private network, but there was so much buzz created around this new platform that others wanted to join. Recently, Ello made the decision to go public and is currently in beta and you can only join with an invite invite code from Ello or a current user.
