It finally happened- Google Plus gave us our vanity URLs, but not without a few rules.
These rules are rather simple and if you were active on Google Plus you would have or you will get one.
What are the rules?
1. For Google Plus pages your website must be linked and verified with Google Plus or have a verified local listing
2. Your Google Plus profiles must be at least 30 days old and you must have at least 10 followers
This all sounds simple right? Well why did some people get their URLs sooner? And why did some people (like myself) land their VERY common name as the URL?
The truth is that I am not 100% on this, but I can tell you that I am the most active and the most recent "Cynthia Johnson" to post on Google Plus. So that would suggest that Google began with our profile names and gave it to the most active user with each name. However, when it comes to Google I try not to assume too much.
Did you get your vanity Google Plus URL?
